I never found myself in one discipline.

I found myself in the rhythm connecting all of them.

I'm Asaad — a creative artist from Egypt working across film, direction, cinematography, editing and music.

For years, I described myself through job titles. Video editor. Videographer. Director. But the titles kept changing while the reason stayed the same: I create to express what I cannot leave unspoken.

Not One Medium

I didn't become a creative artist by choosing one discipline. I became one by following everything that made me feel alive.

Sometimes that means directing a film. Sometimes it means standing behind a camera, shaping an edit, building a visual world or sitting behind a drum kit until an emotion finally finds its rhythm.

The medium changes. The instinct doesn't.

Everything Begins With Rhythm

I started playing drums long before I understood how deeply rhythm would shape the rest of my life.

It lives in the space between two cuts, in the movement of a camera, in the timing of a performance and in the silence before a story reveals what it is really about.

Process

Inside the Process

I'm drawn to the point where an idea stops being abstract and becomes something people can see, hear and feel.

That process can happen in a quiet editing room or in the middle of a demanding production. It requires instinct, but it also requires patience: observing, testing, failing, refining and knowing when the work has finally become honest.

The Work Comes From Life

Not everything that shapes my work happens at work.

Sometimes it begins with music, the sea, a long road, a conversation with another artist — or Gambry refusing to leave my side.

These moments remind me that creating is not a separate part of life. It is how I notice life more carefully.

Where I Am Now

Today, I'm no longer trying to fit everything I do into one job title. I'm building a practice where film, music, direction and personal expression can exist in the same world.

Some projects begin with a client brief. Others begin with a memory, a question, a sound or something I need to understand.

The goal is the same: to make work that feels alive — and leaves something behind after it ends.
